Security Guard Update Security Guard Protects Shoppers, Employees LBA, in cooperation with a small group of merchants, has been funding a private security guard to patrol Larchmont between First and Beverly. The guard patrols 30 hours per week and is available to walk patrons to their cars, watch merchants close up, patrol inside of businesses, on the sidewalk and in the alley. His presence is meant to deter crime and give a sense of safety and well being to patrons and employees. The guard carries a pager for speedy response. The LBA needs more merchants to financially support this worthwhile cause. If there were more participants, the cost would be minimal for everyone. Thanks to the following merchants who have been participating since the program began in November 1997:
